oooh ooooHHH OOOOHHH (or "mad monkey rantings")

When did incompetence become acceptable?

Some days my motor skills are exceptional. Some days they're not. It balances out.

Saturday was one of the days that balance the equation out for me being able to walk upgright.

Case in point. I hoped the fence by my place while golfing to go to the bathroom. It was mostly a graceful maneuver, but let's just say that the 'dismount' wouldn't have impressed any judges. I went down. Landed on my ass. The side of the ass that had the cell phone in the pocket. Took the phone out of the pocket and the color display was in pieces.

Took the phone to the Rogers (tm) store for replacement. I don't know why I got extended warranty (I never do), but this time I had it. They guys in the store were very helpful and courteous, got me a replacement phone, and sent me on my way.

This is where the incompetence comes in and I start to get angry (oooohhh OOOOOHHHHH). Five days later, I realize I haven't had any calls or "work related pages" on my phone. Testing said phone got me a "your phone has not been activated" type of message.

I took the replacement phone back to the store and, again, the guys were very helpful and courteous. And very insistent that they could NOT do anything about a billing credit to compensate for the fact that my phone hasn't been working since they 'fixed' it. But, no problem. They're very clear that I should dial 6-1-1 and they'll fix this issue.

So, I return to work and at a quiet moment, call 6-1-1 to get my bill fixed. "oh, no, sir. We don't do that here, you'll have to go to the store and get that credit done."

ooOOOOoooOoOOHHHHHH. I could smack someone with a banana.

"May I speak with your supervisor please?"

"Yes, but you'll likely get the same answer there"

"I'll hold"

After 5 minutes of hold time, said supervisor took care of my issue and sent me away.

Now I can eat my banana in peace.
